Audi Q6 e-tron 2025: There’s freshness, a novelty that you’ve never experienced in a previous Audi. And that’s because the Q6 e-tron isn’t just another Audi, but a pivotal moment in the brand’s transition to electric mobility.
Although the nomenclature suggests that it logically falls between the Q4 e-tron and the Q8 e-tron, the Q6 e-tron is technically a far cry from its siblings, and in fact, feels older than them.
We know the Q8 e-tron available in India very well, so comparing it with the all-electric flagship is the obvious thing to do, but the fact is that the Q6 e-tron has more in common with the electric Porsche Macan than any Audi.
Features and Tech
The augmented reality (AR) head-up display on the Q6 e-tron is the best in the business. We loved the clarity of the numbers, the real-time display of data, warning display when you’re too close to the vehicle in front or straying from your lane.
Data also flows in and out of your view in a brilliant manner.

The ADAS is easy to activate and deactivate, but we have to say that the lane keep assist function, which doesn’t keep the Q6 e-tron in the centre of the lane, needs better calibration.
Design and Style
The Q6 e-tron’s 100 kWh battery is made up of 180 high-density prismatic cells, packed into 12 modules, giving it a class-leading range of 625km.

This is 25km more than the Q8 e-tron, while the latter has a significantly larger 114 kWh battery and 30 percent more energy density.
The battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in less than 21 minutes, and a range of 255 km can be achieved with a 10-minute charge.
However, these figures are academic in India, as you will need a 270kW charger to get these charging speeds.
Although there will be rear-wheel-drive models later on, the mainstay of the Q6 e-tron range is four-wheel-drive, in line with the brand’s quattro line.
4WD comes courtesy of two state-of-the-art electric motors developed in-house.
Engine and Performance
- The claimed 0- 100 kmph time of 5.9 seconds tells you that the Q6 e-tron is quick, if not lightning fast.
- But it’s not the numbers that tell the story.
- It’s the smooth and linear way in which the Q6 e-tron delivers its 388 hp of power that’s its strength.
- Press the accelerator pedal, and you don’t get a quick burst of power like many EVs, which can be uncomfortable for passengers after the initial thrill wears off.
- Instead, there’s a nice, quick surge of power that gets you to the speed limit before you know it.
- The Q6 e-tron is all about making your drive rapid and stress-free, and on the Spanish motorways, driving fast has never felt easier.
- EVs are expected to be quiet and refined, but the Q6 e-tron is shockingly so.
- There’s very little motor noise, road and wind noise are also minimal, and if you want some sound, you’ll have to switch to Dynamic mode, which pumps a deep rumble through the speakers.
- But it’s not just for the soundtrack that you’ll want to switch to Dynamic mode.
- This was the default setting for most of my drive, as Comfort is a little too soft.
- On bumpy and winding roads, the Q6 e-tron bounced up and down on its air springs and felt a bit floaty.
Pricing and Variants
The good news is that the SQ6 e-tron will also arrive in India next year, right after the Q6 e-tron. Pricing is unknown as of now, but we estimate the Q6 e-tron to be priced around Rs 85 lakh, while the SQ6 e-tron will be priced a little over Rs 1 crore.
The Q6 e-tron is the start of a new wave of Audis coming on the PPE platform, and the next model will likely be the A6 e-tron sedan. Exciting times are ahead for Audi.
