New Upcoming Ather 450X 2025 – The EV Scooter That’s 10 Years Ahead of Its Time!

Ather 450X 2025: Ather Energy has launched the 2025 model of its oldest electric scooter, 450X. Many changes have been made to the scooter, and its price has also been increased. The 2.9 kWh variant is now priced at Rs 1.47 lakh, while the 3.7 kWh trim is priced at Rs 1.57 lakh, which increases their prices by Rs 6,400 and Rs 2,000 respectively (both prices are ex-showroom).

These scooters can also be equipped with optional Pro Packs, which cost Rs 17,000 for the former and Rs 20,000 for the latter.

Design & Style

Ather’s Magic Twist regenerative braking system has also been incorporated in the 450X from the 450 Apex. Ather says that this regenerative braking system is so strong that it can negate the use of conventional brakes in most cases.

Talking about the hardware, the 450X gets new tyres developed in collaboration with MRF. Called the Zapper N E-Tread tyres, these tyres are claimed to increase the actual range of the scooter by about 25 per cent due to low rolling resistance.

The claimed actual range of the 2.9 kWh versions has increased from 85km to 105km, while the 3.7 kWh trim has an actual range of 130km, which is 25km more than before.

Features & Tech

Those opting for the Pro Pack will get the new Atheistic 6 software integrated into the scooter. It brings along a host of practical features like Google Maps, Alexa pairing, WhatsApp notification on dashboard, Ping My Scooter, and live location sharing.

Furthermore, the company is also offering the Ather Duo 700W home charger with the 2.9 kWh variant of the 450X, which can juice the battery up from zero to 80 percent in three hours.

Engine & Performance

The Ather 450X, a popular electric scooter, features a 3.3kW motor with a peak output of 6.2kW and 26Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.3 seconds and boasts a top speed of 90 kmph. Two battery options are available: 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh, offering different ranges. 

Performance and Range

• The 450X’s regenerative braking system contributes to its impressive true range, which can exceed the claimed True Range of 110km (3.7 kWh version).
• For instance, the 3.7 kWh version can get a true range of 142km on a single charge. 
• The scooter offers various riding modes, including Warp mode for a more thrilling experience..
• A fast charger can provide 1.5km of range per minute, useful for quick top-ups. 
• The 2.9 kWh version has a lower charging time than 65% of other electric scooters. 

Engine and Motor

• The 450X is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) known for its high efficiency and power density. 
• The motor delivers a nominal power output of 3 kW and a peak power output of 6.4 kW. 
• The 450X’s motor is capable of a top speed of 90 kmph and can accelerate from 0- 40 kmph in 3.3 seconds. 

Ride & Handling

The Ather 450X is praised for its fun and engaging ride experience, highlighting its brisk acceleration, agility, and good composure around corners. The scooter is known for its easy handling, making it effortless to maneuver through city traffic. 

Braking performance is adequate, and the throttle response is well-tuned, especially when compared to some other EVs. 

Price & Variants

The Ather 450X, an electric scooter, is available in four variants based on battery capacity and Pro Pack features. 

The entry-level 450X 2.9 kWh has an ex-showroom price of approximately ₹1.47 Lakh, while the top-end 450X 3.7 kWh Pro Pack variant costs around ₹1.77 Lakh in Bangalore. On-road prices, which include taxes and insurance, will vary based on location.
