Jaguar GT EV 2026 Unveiled: The Electric Supercar That Could Kill Tesla?

Jaguar GT EV 2026: Jaguar has been in the news for its new Type 00 concept car that was unveiled at the end of last year.

This is the basis for the first new Jaguar car in almost three years and will be an EV, aiming to kick-start the iconic British automaker’s journey into an all-electric future.

The automaker has reiterated that the production-ready version will be unveiled this year, and will be launched and go on sale in 2026.

Jaguar is set to unveil a production-ready, four-door electric GT car this year, which will be launched in 2026.

Built on the Jaguar Electrified Architecture (JEA), the new model is expected to have a range of around 800 km. The concept car, known as the Type 00, will be displayed in Mumbai on June 14th.

Design and Style

Jaguar managing director Rawdon Glover told our sister publication that the priority when designing these new cars was to rethink the fundamentals of EV design.

Talking about today’s electric cars, he said, “All look quite similar because they’ve spent too long in a wind tunnel, for range purposes.”

  • Glover added, “If we look at it, it’s quite a homogenous sector, and I suspect that might be part of the reason why the BEV sector stalled a little bit.
  • You want to build a car that really challenges those conventions.
  • The LED lights at either end will be so thin that they will be almost invisible when turned off.
  • It is also understood that the cars will not have rear side windows.
  • Jaguar’s decision to move towards pure-EV propulsion comes at a time when direct rivals have adjusted their electrification strategies in response to the drop in demand for premium electric cars.

Feature and Tech

Jaguar’s upcoming all-electric GT will be a four-door model with a long hood, a coupe-like roofline, and a short rear deck.

It is expected to have a range of around 700km and have a more powerful dual-motor powertrain producing over 575 bhp.

The car will be built on Jaguar’s new Electric Architecture (JEA) and will be produced at the Solihull plant in the UK. This design will introduce a new design language for future Jaguar models.

  • Body style: Four-door GT with a long hood, coupe roofline, and short rear deck.
  • Power train: Dual-motor, all-wheel drive with an output of over 575bhp
  • Range: Expected to offer a range of around 700km (about 435 miles) on a full charge.
  • Platform: Built on the new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA).

Engine and Performance

The upcoming Jaguar EV GT will feature a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system with a power output of over 580 hp.

It is expected to have a range of over 700km and will have ultra-rapid charging capabilities, aiming to achieve a range of 322km in just 15 minutes.

Dual-motor, AWD:

The GT will likely feature two electric motors, providing all-wheel drive for improved performance and handling.

Over 580hp:

The combined power output from the dual motors is estimated to be over 580 horsepower.

Target Range:

The target range on a full charge is set at over 700 km, with a focus on fast charging speeds.

Charging Speed:

The goal is to achieve 322km of range in just 15 minutes of charging.

Price and Variants

Jaguar is planning a new all-electric GT model, which will be unveiled as a concept in December and is expected to cost around £100,000 (around ₹1.02 crores).

The production version will be launched globally in late 2025, with an Indian launch expected later as part of the second wave.
